Datura — a highly toxic and mind-altering plant that has fascinated and terrified people for centuries.
DATURÆ crafts an auditory journey mirroring the disorienting and hallucinogenic effects of the plant — where reality slips into delirium and dreams. His hypnotic rhythms guide listeners into a trance-like state, leading them through waves of confusion, dissociation, and surrealism. The industrial textures and intricate grooves mimic the plant’s unpredictable, sometimes nightmarish, effects, creating an experience that blurs reality and induces a dreamlike state.
Emerging from the underground rave scene in Frankfurt, DATURÆ’s evolution in Beijing has shaped a style that fuses hypnotic rhythms with industrial energy. Performing at tempos between 133–145 BPM, he creates a raw, impactful atmosphere that draws listeners deep into his sound.
Having played at iconic venues such as Groundless Factory and Pillbox in Beijing, as well as underground spots in Xi’an and Shanghai, DATURÆ has shared the stage with influential acts like Schwefelgelb (EBM), Unhuman (Raw Hypnotic), and Andreas Kraemer (Hard Techno). Featured sets on Beijing City Radio and Bai Hui Radio further solidify his presence in the underground music scene.
Currently, DATURÆ is focused on his own productions, releasing singles every month and preparing for an EP release next year that will deepen his exploration of his unique industrial-hypnotic sound.
